This was a very direct project: take a flat metal bar and turn it into something useful. I liked how little there was to hide behind. The measurements had to be right, the bends had to line up, and the final object had to work.
I measured, marked, bent and welded the bar by hand. Every bend depended on the one before it, so getting the zig zag geometry right meant being precise without overcomplicating the process. After welding, I filed, sanded and polished the piece until the surface felt finished.
A simple hanger made from one flat metal bar, bent into a geometric zig zag. The peaks become hooks and the ends flatten against the wall. I like this project because there isn't much to explain. It is a small object, made by hand, and it does what it needs to do.
