The key design decision was to reorient the airflow perpendicular to the device, aligning it with the natural movement used during curly hair care routines.
In this process, I consciously chose to prioritize ergonomics over compact size.

Crispa
The challenge was to redesign a hair dryer to better support users with curly and textured hair, whose needs are often overlooked by conventional products. The project was informed by both research and personal experience. As someone with curly hair, I observed my own posture while using traditional hair dryers, as well as that of my mother and friends with different hair textures. This observation revealed that axial airflow forces uncomfortable wrist and arm positions.

Resolution
Crispa is a hair dryer that offers improved comfort and control through an ergonomic form and reoriented airflow. The final design reflects my interest in inclusive design and my belief that everyday objects should adapt to real user behavior rather than impose a standardized use.
